The Faculty of Public Health recently released a paper examining the role NHS organisations play in ill-health prevention, emphasising embedding prevention in patient pathways and reducing inequalities. This paper links well with the ongoing work across Cheshire & Merseyside to embed MECC into organisations and encourage staff to offer lifestyle advice and services to the public. It also feeds into our other priorites including delivery of the blood pressure strategy.

The paper was based on lots of evidence gathering, including over 50 pieces of written feedback from FPH members and others, opinion polling of over 300 NHS leaders about prevention and a workshop held in April.
