The public health community across Cheshire and Merseyside and PHE national team joined clinicians, pharmacists and the voluntary sector yesterday to help develop a local action plan to beat high blood pressure.

The event, held in Warrington and chaired by Cllr Janet Clowes, Care and Health in the Community Portfolio Holder from Cheshire East Council, drew over 100 delegates to hear from national experts and understand the latest public insight into attitudes towards high blood pressure.

1 in 4 adults are affected by high blood pressure and improving the prevention, detection and management of high blood pressure is a key collective priority for the Cheshire & Merseyside DsPH. This priority work stream is led by Dr Heather Grimbaldeston, Director of Public Health from Cheshire East Council.
